Walters brother George Price Freeman offered to finance Walter in an orchard in Western Australia. After selling their furniture, George withdrew offer. Walter Stanley and Ann with their bees set off for Great Western. Due to the heat the bees in the Rail Trucks? were in trouble so they were off loaded at Middle Creek. He then went to Great Western near Hans Irvine's Cellars and later to Dunkeld. The family moved to Maryborough in 1914.
